I found this video showing photographer Takashi Arai making a Daguerreotype.

His lab looks well equipped with a hood and wood fixtures to handle the sensitization and development process.

This particular process is hazardous and expensive but it is beautiful.

Here’s a video from Tom Johnston on how to test black and white paper for Fog… and Fix it. I’ve had several of his videos on this site before. Always excellent information with excellent quality.

In this video, he shows the results of his extensive tests, how he tracks his paper and his tests, how to mix chemicals to clear the fog, and how to summarize the data.

Here is an online video showing how to increase contrast of negatives with selenium toning. First he talks about the advantages of using selenium toning and then gives a demonstration of toning a negative in trays. Be sure to avoid skin contact with the selenium.
