Stephen Dupont’s Photography of Afghanistan

This video shows the horrors of a suicide bombing in Afghanistan. This one is quite graphic. It’s narrated by photojournalist Stephen Dupont as he experienced a suicide attack during his photographic assignment.

If you’re at all interested in photojournalism and war photography, this is a must see video.

NOTE: Unfortunately, the original video was removed from youtube so I’ve substituted this video just to give a taste of Dupont’s work.

Treasures of the New York Public Library Photography Collection

I don’t get up to New York very often. Maybe if I did, I would have realized that the New York Public Library has a massive photography collection. This short video which features the curator of the collection describes some of the 400,000 documentary photographs in the library. Some of these photographs in the New York Public Library are by Dorothea Lange, Berenice Abbott, Danny Lyon, and Stephen Dupont. This sounds like a good excuse for a trip to New York.

Some inspiration – video of the work of French photographer, Robert Doisneau

I found this video of some of the photographs of the great French photographer, Robert Doisneau. There is no commentary, but I liked the music. Nice relaxing inspirational start to the day after Christmas.
