Video documentary about Garry Winogrand

Here’s a 2 part documentary by Bill Moyers about famous street photographer Garry Winogrand.

There is some good footage of Winogrand out on the streets taking photographs.

Oh well, heck, since you stuck with me this far, here’s another.

This is a video of Winogrand’s images.

St. Louis Art Museum’s Photography on the Street exhibit

I just found out about the St. Louis Art Museum’s Photography on the Street exhibit

If I get a break in my schedule, I think I’m going to have to head down there. Their web site says “Photography on the Street provides examples by the American and European photographers Dorothea Lange, Morris Engel, Weegee (Arthur Felig), Robert Frank, Robert Doisneau, Roger Mayne, Saul Leiter, Duane Michaels and Helen Levitt.”

Sounds like great fun.

Street Photography

I haven’t done any street photography for a loooonnnggg time. This weekend is the weekend for it though. The weather is nice and I have a burning urge to take some urban pictures.

I was cruising through photo.net and found this forum topic on How to shoot street photography.

Here are some of the forum member’s favorite shots.

For this weekend, I think I’m going to load up a very old-school looking Pentax Spotmatic with some Kodak Tri-X black and white film.
