Mapping Your World: Introducing Students to the Field of Cartography (Educational Video Presentation) [1 VHS Video] Grades 4-8(1 VHS Video) This informative and entertaining film introduces students to the field of cartography. With the help of a host cartographer, students learn about many different types of maps - from mental maps and road maps to star charts - and about the language maps use. Viewers discover that maps are used for much more than just locating places and directions. In his studio, the cartographer shows students a number of maps. A political map generally shows man made features, such as cities, borders, and roads; a physical map concentrates on natural features such as rivers, lakes and mountains. Theme maps show a particular type of information, such as bedrock, geology, transportation routes, or environmental stress areas.

The Bosch GLR225 laser distance measurer is accurate to within 0.06 inches (1.5 mm), even at great distances--up to 230 feet. It has four measurement systems, making it vital in numerous circumstances. It can convert units into inches, feet and inches, decimal feet, and metric with only the push of a button.
It also has seven measuring modes--making it very versatile--including length, area, volume, minimum/maximum, continuous, indirect length (which calculates inaccessible distances that cannot be measured directly because of an obstruction or a lack of reflecting surface by using the Pythagorean theorem), and multi-surface area measurements. The multi-surface area mode calculates the total area of several individual surfaces with a common length or height and the minimum/maximum mode accurately measures to the shortest/longest distance from a fixed reference point, which is necessary with situations such as plumb lines and diagonals.
Easy-to-Use and Feature Rich
Bosch’s GLR225 laser distance measurer’s handy laser beam is accurate and remarkably quick to master. Just point, click, and the measurement is there. It has a built-in bubble vial to provides visual reference when measuring horizontal distances, and it provides you with four measuring reference points for optimum usage: back, front, a metal swing-out extension pin for measuring from inside corners or channels, or the center of an optional tripod. Mommy I'm Here cl-305 Child Locator with New Alert Feature, BlueOver 725,000 children are reported lost each year in the US. No matter how good a parent one is, it can happen to anyone. The Mommy I'm Here Child Locator is an advanced, easy to use child locating aid. It will give you the added confidence of knowing that you have taken the extra step to protect your child in today's dangerous, public environments. It works great at the mall, stores, airports, sporting events and any other public venue where a child can quickly become lost or missing. Simply attach the bear receiver to a child's shoe or belt and keep the keychain handy. Once you turn on your locator, they will establish a proprietary frequency. Push the bear once and it will be armed and ready to use. If your child is lost, simply press the button and your little teddy bear will omit a series of 56 decible beeps--helping you to find him, and bringing attention to the lost child. Remember, this locator is not a substitute for paying attention to your child and nor is it responsible for lost children. Comes with long lasting batteries and is immediately ready for use. Receiver is water resistant and is availble in pink or brown, Blue,
The Best of the Power Rangers - The Ultimate RangersChosen by fans, the five Power Rangers episodes on this disc are a cross-section of major events from the long-running series. (Dear to the hearts of PR faithful is remembering the succession of actors and characters who have donned Ranger costumes at different times. This anthology helps.) "White Light Parts 1 & 2," from season two, finds Lord Zedd unleashing the very strange Scarlet Sentinel, and the Rangers in nervous anticipation of their new leader, the unidentified White Ranger. "Countdown to Destruction Parts 1 & 2" would probably impress Roger Corman with its budget-conscious but slick mix of stock footage, computer effects, and rapid cutting in the story of the Rangers' near-defeat battling an invasion of Earth. Another nostalgic favorite, "Wild Force: Forever Red," involves an exciting reunion of past and present Red Rangers. Wild, crazy, engrossing stuff, though special features would have been nice. --Tom Keogh
Catch More Fish - How To Read Your Fishfinder Like A ProNo matter what boat or sonar, you can improve your catch by correctly interpreting and understanding your fishfinder. Fishfinders can really increase your catch if you know how to set them up properly and interpret them correctly. In order to properly interpret sonar, you must know how a fishfinder works. This program teaches anglers how to interpret the sonar returns shown on their fishfinder's display in a step-by-step, easy to understand manner. Most anglers rely strictly on fish identification features on their fishfinder, which can show many objects as fish that are not actually fish. Any submerged object between the surface and the bottom capable of returning sound, such as a tree limb, may be shown as fish on the screen. Another common problem angler's face is fully understanding the cone angle and coverage of their transducer. The gain adjustment can vary from what is shown and not shown on the display. While automatic adjustments in range and gain are usually adequate for running a boat, they are usually inadequate for finding fish. It is therefore important to understand frequencies and how to manually adjust settings to get the most from your fishfinder.
