Video of a 4×5 camera project – and some plans to build it

I found this video of a 4×5 camera that someone built. Looks nice. Though not nearly as rigid as my super graphic.

The only thing that makes this more challenging is that the 4×5 camera construction manual is in Italian. Hold it. Don’t go. It can be translated with google’s translation tool.

Very Cool Homemade SLR

I was tooling around in APUG and found a link to this camera. I thought this was awesome.

I admire people who build their own cameras. It might take time away from taking photographs, but it makes the experience uniquely yours.

This is some real dedication of time and knowledge to the hobby.

I know I’ll never get around to building a 35mm SLR, but I’m happy I found this one.

Large format is another matter altogether. That’s next year’s project. I’ll do that as soon as I make a bunch of cabinetry for the house.
